we will be taking photos of various woodlands and come to a conclusion of which scene we are going to use for filming.

HORROR FILM PLANNING

Wer are going to use masks or hooded clothing in our filming as these add a creepy aspect into the footage much like the strangers, this makes the charecters annonymous to a certain extent and makes the viewer unable to see their identity making it more surreal due to not being able to identify the,, or even know if they are human underneath.

Editing

I think for this task we need to make sure we film wha is nessercary and more in order so it easier to edit it and when the software lags there will not be so much of a problem. Also i think the maximum time of footage we should have is about 8 minutes so its not to diffucuilt to sort out and so there isnt too much to decide what is good and what is not.

Horror vs romance

Often in horror there are the leading charecters who often have another part or rtelation within the film who is the one who becomes a target to demons, for example in paranormal activity 2 the baby and wife are the focus iof the demopns wants, yet by the end all of the family except the daughter are killed representing the common concept of, the lead or demon, wins at everything unless defeated.

Haunting in conneticuit follows a similar concept with the leading boy having cancer and dying momentarily within the film before being okay. Within horrors it is usually only if the horror within the film is defeated which the loved ones all survive. Paranormal activity the demon is left to continue having not been defeated.

This is the same in the stranger where both leads who are ibn love result in death with the evil having not been defeated. To continue the cyccle of madness. This also happens in blaire witch were all the friends die, with the evil still being present.

Soundtracks

A possible soundtrack for the backing of our filming could be a theme tune from the video game zelda ocarina of time, shadow temple because it is dark music, and is for a ghost themed section of the game. It is quite daunting and would add to a tense atmosphere so would be quite useful.
Also as i have the music on cd it would be easy to rip it tooo the school computers for our personal use.

Horror films.

For our preliminary task we are going to create a horror film worked similar to the way that blair witch was created. We will do handhelf filming mainly, and create a surreal atmosphere that are the main providers of tension in such films.
We will be using soundtracks quite possibly from video games as they can be quite offputting at times.
And would help create a tense feel, making the viewer not know when the shocking is going to happen.

Charecter i think will be opurselves but we will have to be quite dramatic, possibly seemingly stupid as these are main concepts of horror films, one of us will also have to be the typical hero/ heroin who is on an ego trip.

The strangers.

Each of these have been filmed at different times and each use different techniques and structure to how they scare the viewers, evil dead and it play on the idea of possesion and use alot of make up and props to create atmospheres and concentrate heavily on soundtrack. The haunting in conneticuit used sharp moments which slowly build up so that the viewer continuously feels tense and at unese. The blair witch projecty plays on the idea of reality with home filming included much like recent films paranormal activity. And the sterangers focuses on surrealism techniques, to play with the viewers mind. And question all that happens. The film Is also very vague which means the viewer is not really aware of what is happening. Creating confusion and suspense.

Crime Cliches

In crime cliches no one is really the good the, the police are as bad as the good guys no one is ever a one dimensional charecter. The films are usually set within america, typically by the sea miami etc. Or sometimes within dodge casino sets such as  Las vegas. If the crime film does not folow any of these steps for the basis it will not be successful within the film industry.

Movie Cliches Action

Action films follow a very stereotypical boys dream of how to live. It usually revolves around a group of charecters, usually males, embariking on increadibly dangerous journeys (missions) with big guns and army costumes.
There is mostly always the coward in the film, who is very reluctant to take part within the assigment and occasionally the "mole" who turns out to be a traitor for the opposition.
There is always the dominant memmber, who apppears to use this as an ego boost, saying it is his mission and the others don't have to come..
However they always remain, seemingly loyal to their captain.
The charecters usually always follow a similar appearance of big muscles and look not disimilar to an action man doll.

The villains within the films are usually sinister charecters with heavy accents, either regional or completely foreign and usually embark on a ego boost to rule the country, or in some cases the enitre world...
Any female charecters seen within the film are usually provocative 'babes' who any man would desire, they usually end up leaping into bed with the main leader, or at least share a romantic moment.

Action films always cotnain some massive medical downfall, where a charecter may have a painful injury which unables him to continue, however this is usually resolved pretty quick with a decision to continue, or may include the lead charecter getting cold feet or making a sacrifice. This occurs in pirates of the carribean where captain  jack sparrow often tries to negotiate with enemies to avoid confrontation, or is all to willing to sacrifice members of his own crew to save his own skin.,

The typical action scene everyone has been waiting for, features completely ott stunts which no one in real life could ever think to participate in, they often have charecter jumping from ridiculous heights, explosions that would destroy buildings....

the lead charecters always have one liners which the audience will remember
for example the vilain in terminators line

Most action films always come in a series for exaple potc terminator starwars.
It's never just a one off despite the lead charecters decision to retire.
They are usually always left on a cliffhanger of somesort.
