Films

I have begun to notice actually, withing the television series, films etc that their is a band trend at certain times of the year. For example there are often horror films released around the times of holidays, and in autumn time.

As the target audience is generally, teenagers or people going in large groups, so by being released in autmn there is the scare element as it is when the overal weather etc gets more gloomy, and by being released in holidays larger groups who are generally the target audiences are more likely to occur.

Also romantic film generally seem to come out around christmas time, or in the summer, with the idea of a summer or winter rommance in mind. It is also the time of years when relationships tend to bloom so it could be seen as a representation of this.

Film making and Music videos

I think it would be quite intresting to do a music video, style filming piece.
Like a musical. But i think it has to be a film of some sort.

Maybe we get to do this another time i am not actually sure.
I should probably ask.

There are lots of shots in music videos, often from lower angles looking up, or close ups, advertising the singer in away.
The low angles also give them their status aswell, and a sense of domination over the audience.
The focus on the facial shots often show the emotions, and how the artist appears, possibly for inspiration resons?

The Filming

I don't think our piece of filming should be to overtop, like in the mese en scene lessons, we didn't go to over the top with out set ups and got praised for them, so i think our film making will benefit from the same kind of thing.

Hopefully we will be looking at how to make sound effects etc, as they are quite and important concept of it.

Note Taking

In media we have been looking at the note taking and annotating, side which we have been warned may change how we watch films and other media.
There are a majority of different shots to take note on and explain the concept of why they have been used and what they imply.
For example the high angle shot creates a sense of vunerability for example in spooks, the street is shown in a high angle, which later is the target for an explosion.

You have to make these annotations quite fast. Something which i am actually getting quite good at, i find it very easy to pinpoint the effects used and why. I'm guessing taking art has something to do with this because of effects and messages being given to users in that.

It will be a good idea for me and my firends to discuss the types of shots we are going to use in our own filming.

Mese en scene

OKAY

so today we did our own mise en scenes, it was really good, my group worked well, we are all friends so you would expect us to get distracted but we didn't we liked setting up the scenes and took some pretty good images i thought.
I am deffinatly looking forward to when we get the video cameras and start filming :O
